The season prior to any world championship, the following BIFFA championships will be qualifying events for the world championships, and up to 3 other events to be decided by the championship committee.

The overall result from each event shall be used to construct a points table for eligible (*) helmsmen, points being awarded using the bonus points system. 50% of the events rounded up shall count. Those helmsmen with the lowest points shall be invited to take up the places available to the British team. Any places still available will be awarded at the discretion of the President whose decision will be final.

Points will be awarded to the helmsman, not the boat. Points cannot be carried forward.

Eligible helmsmen are those who are members of the British Isles Flying Fifteen Association who do not automatically qualify for a place. Solely for the purposes of calculating the qualifying points table, any ineligible helms will be removed from the championship results before they are used for the qualifying table.
